Imja Tse peak (Island Peak) , at a height of 6,160 meters, is more popularly known by the name of Island Peak. The peak was named Island peak by Eric Shiptons party in 1953, as the peak resembles an island in a sea of ice when viewed form Dingboche. Later in 1983, the peak was renamed as Imja Tse. The peak was first ascended in 1953 by a British team as preparation for climbing Everest. Tenzing Norgay was one of the members who successfully ascended it. The peak is part of the south ridge of Lhotse Shar (8400m) and the main land forms a semicircle of cliffs that rise to the north of the summits of Nuptse, Lhotse, Middle Peak and Lhotse Shar. Cho Polu and Makalu lie to the east of the Island Peak. Baruntse, Amphu and Ama Dablam lie to the south. To Climb this peak climbing members will apply climbing application through their reliable Trekking agency. This peak is controlled by Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) and the mountaineering fee US$ 350 for One to Four Pax, additional member will be paid US$ 40.00 per person until 8 than US$ 25.00 will be charge until 12 members. NMA will put US$ 250.00 for garbage deposit which will be refund after garbage clearance at Sagarmatha Polution Control Committee (SPCC). The proof will give from SPCC to NMA. Island Peak is very popular which is also easy to climb so that many climbers wil come to attempt this peak. Starting from Lukla this trek leads through Namche Bazaar to the Gokyo Lakes and over Cho La (La = pass) at 17777 ft/ 5420 m. making a circuit of Tawache (20883 ft/ 6367 m.) and Cholatse (21123 ft/ 6440 m.). It emerges into the Khumbu valley above Lobuje and continues on the main trail to Everest Base Camp and Kalapattar before making a detour to Chukkung and leading over the Lhotse and Imja glaciers for the climb of Island Peak. The return is via Thyangboche and Namche to Lukla from where you fly back to Kathmandu. Strenuous trekking is continuously rewarded with dramatic Himalayan scenes, including four of the world's eight highest peaks: Cho Oyu (26741 ft/ 8153 m.), Makalu (27797 ft/ 8475 m.), Lhotse (27880 ft/ 8500 m.) and Everest (29021 ft/ 8848 m.). Breathtaking mountain vistas are complemented by visits to Sherpa villages, homes and monasteries offering you an insight into the quiet but, culturally vibrant Sherpa way of life.

Day 13: Gorakshep to Everest Base Camp (5367 m) & back to Lobuche (4930 m / 11 km)
Day 14: Lobuche to Chhukung (4730 m / 13 km)
